A cepage of 74% Cabernet Franc & 26% Merlot. A complex nose with aromas of black cherries, toast, vanilla and tobacco, blackcurrants and blueberries. Very well balanced and brooding in true Dome style – this is a serious wine that is full of finesse and class. 13.5% ABV.
Le Dôme is a single vineyard less than three hectares in size and is owned by Jonathan Maltus of Château Teyssier fame. Le Dôme represents the highest proportion of Cabernet Franc in wine of this level from Bordeaux. Seventy percent of the vineyard is dedicated to this variety and the rest is old vine Merlot. Despite being one of the most highly sought-after wines, Le Dome has no official classification because it has no winery or chateau however, it is considered Grand Cru Classe equivalent.
